The correct dosage of Inflacam for dogs is 0.6 mg meloxicam per kilogram of body weight or 1 ml Inflacam for the suspension.

How long does it take for Inflacam to work in dogs?
Unfortunately, you should not expect an overnight effect from Inflacam for dogs – this only occurs after 3 to 4 days.
In some cases, it may take longer for your dog to see a significant improvement.
However, if after 10 to 14 days you have the impression that Inflacam is not working at all, stop the treatment and consult your veterinarian about an alternative.
What side effects can Inflacam cause in dogs?
Inflacam can cause side effects in some dogs, with diarrhea, vomiting, loss of appetite and lethargy being the most common side effects.
You don’t have to worry here because these side effects are a reaction to an unknown drug. They subside after a few days.
However, the active substance Metacam can also lead to long-term health damage, such as kidney failure and increased liver values.
Metacam is considered to be very well tolerated, especially when it comes to the liver and kidneys. Still, it doesn’t hurt to keep these side effects in mind.
When should I not use Inflacam on dogs?
And this is especially true if your dog already has kidney or liver problems – because then an Inflacam application is strongly discouraged!
You should also not use Inflacam on your dog if it is hypersensitive to Metacam or suffers from gastrointestinal problems.
Also, you should not give Inflacam to your dog if he is currently on antibiotic therapy or on a diuretic.
This can lead to toxic interactions with these drugs, which should of course be avoided.
Please also discuss with your veterinarian whether Inflacam is the right pain reliever if your furry friend is still a puppy.
The same applies to bitches in heat, pregnant or lactating, where an alternative medication is usually a better choice.

What alternatives are there to Inflacam for dogs?
