They say that forgiveness is essential for inner peace and turning the page, but what do I do if I hate my ex?
They say that everything that begins, has an end; that applies to dating relationships, even if we want to get married thinking that love will last a lifetime.
Are you one of those who says I hate my ex? Batteries with that!
According to a recent study by the Commonwealth University (Richmond Virginia), it is proven that people who forgive their ex-partners live longer.
Psychologist Everett Worthington, who led the research, created an intervention model called REACH Forgiveness, which consists of remember the painful situation, but trying to understand the person who hurt you.
Consequently, forgiveness ceases to be something impossible to achieve and becomes a gift you give to that person, without expecting anything in return and without looking back.
«There are differences in philosophy and religion and personal beliefs about whether people think forgiveness is appropriate or possible, and those kinds of beliefs can keep them from forgiving.»
Worthington said.
And it is that forgiving has direct effects on health. A person who lets go of the past stresses less, and enjoys the present more, so he has fewer heart problems.
So if what you want is to live longer, forget about your ex, but first forgive him sincerely.
