Ingredients
- 1/2 pound of lentils
- 2 eggs
- A quarter of finely chopped yellow bell pepper
- 2 stalks of spring onion or chives
- 2 tablespoons of wheat flour
- Half a cup of spinach
- 1/2 white onion finely chopped
- a tablespoon of parsley
- Seasoning (to your liking)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Vegetable oil
Preparation
Step 1. Cook
The first thing you should do is soak the lentils in hot water for two hours to soften them. After this time, take them to a large pot along with the water in which you soaked them and a little more of this liquid. Add salt and a few drops of oil, cover the pot and allow them to cook until soft. Now strain the lentils and place them in a bowl. Start flattening them to form a dough. Once you achieve it, add the big-headed onion, paprika, garlic, chives, spinach, seasoning, flour, the two eggs and parsley. Stir everything very well so that the flavors are integrated and check if the lentils are already somewhat cold.
Step 2. Fry
Add oil to a skillet and allow it to heat. Take parts of the dough you made and assemble with your hands a kind of meat or arepitas and take them to fry for a few seconds in the oil.
