Ingredients

  • three green bananas
  • Oil
  • Water

Preparation

Step 1. Peel off

The first thing you should do is peel the bananas. Then, heat enough oil in a frying pan so that they can be fried evenly. The best way for you to know if the oil is hot is to put a piece of the banana and if it floats at once, it’s done. Allow them to fry until you see them golden brown and at that moment, remove them from the oil, drain them well and take them to a plate.

Step 2. Fry

Collect some water in a bowl and dip a soft cloth in it. Drain this cloth perfectly and spread it out on a surface, put the banana inside, close the cloth and with the help of a plate or a wooden board, crush until you get the patacón and with a hammer or a flat surface, tap it a few times so that it acquires the thin texture you want. Be careful not to do it with too much force so as not to break it. Remove it from the cloth, and very gently put it to fry again until it looks toasty on the edges. Take out the patacón and let it drain on kitchen paper. Done, that easy you can share these tostones with the whole family.
