- 200 grams of dehydrated coconut
- 1 small cup of water
- 1 small cup of milk
- A lemon
Preparation and how to make cocadas with panela
Step 1. Cook
The first thing you should do is put the water in a pot together with the piece of panela to cook over low heat until the panela melts completely. It should be like the texture of a caramel that is semi liquid.
Step 2. Mix
Then you must add the coconut to the panela and stir for a few minutes until the coconut is completely hydrated with the panela.
Step 3. Add
Later, when the coconut is ready, you just have to add the milk and a few drops of lemon juice. Then raise the heat and, without stopping stirring, cook the mixture until it changes color and turns golden.
Step 4. Prepare
When the dough for the cocadas is ready, you just have to put a few mounds of mixture and flatten them with a spoon to shape them into cookies. Then let them cool to room temperature and keep in the fridge for about 1 hour until the cocadas are compacted. And ready! Now you can enjoy your delicious cocadas.
