Ingredients
- 2 cups of bread flour
- 1 and 1/2 cups of water
- Half a tablespoon of salt
- Oil
Preparation
Step 1. Mix
The first thing you should do is take the two cups of flour and pour it into a large bowl. Now, add half a tablespoon of salt and with the help of your hands, mix these dry ingredients a little. Now add the water to the bowl and knead until you obtain a homogeneous mixture; Form balls with part of the dough. Spread a plastic bag on a flat surface and moisten your hands a little, take each ball of dough and assemble the arepa as you normally do. Place it on the plastic and begin to expand the dough a little more from the inside out. If you still want to give it a little more shape, turn it over and repeat the action on the other side of the arepa.
Step 2. Grill
Take a frying pan and pour a splash of oil into it. Once it has taken temperature, put each of your arepas to roast and the trick is to wet your hand a little with water and apply gently on the arepa so that it does not crack. Allow the arepa to roast for about 5 minutes on each side and that’s it, you can add butter or open it in half to add cheese or whatever you want. Bon Appetite.
