How to make a paper kite

Materials

  • 1 sheet of tissue paper or plastic
  • 2 thin wooden sticks
  • Thin and strong rope
  • Pieces of cloth

Implements necessary

  • 1 glue stick
  • 1 scissors

Time required

45 minutes

Estimated cost

$15,000 (COP)

Process

1. hold

The first thing you should do is place the sticks in the shape of a cross and tie them tightly with the help of the rope, making knots that will not come loose. The ideal is that they are strong because this is going to be the structure of the kite.

2. Join

Then stick the structure to tissue paper or plastic (depending on the material you prefer) with the glue stick and if you want to reinforce it with tape. Next, cut a piece of string and carefully pass it through the middle of the tissue paper or plastic to tie it a little below the center of the structure. Then, tie two more pieces of string to the ends of the kite and hold them with the central piece, this in order to give stability and make the kite much more resistant.

3. Fly

To finish, you should use lightweight fabric scraps to make the kite’s tail. Ideally, it should be at least five times longer than the structure, this so that when you make it fly you have control and that’s it! You already have your kite, you just need an open space and share a fun family afternoon.
