If you do not know how to make a puzzle of cardboard, we show you a step by step with which you will be able to make it easily and use it in games at home.
There are games with a lot of tradition and that take us back to the times when we were children. You may remember the top, the yo-yo and also the puzzles with the figures that you liked so much, but that you had a little trouble putting together. Now, it is not necessary to buy this game because using recyclable materials you can make it and challenge the children to put it together in the shortest possible time.
We are going to show you how to make paper pom poms and also, a super simple technique for you to make a cardboard puzzle in just a few minutes:
How to make a puzzle for children

- A large piece of cloth
- 1 white sheet
- A sheet with the impression of a figure of more or less 15 × 15 cm
Implements necessary
- glue
- Rule
- Scalpel

Time required
30 minutes
Estimated cost
$10,600 (COP)
Process
Step 1. Cut
Take the cardboard sheets and draw a 25×25 cm square on each one with the ruler and the marker. Cut them very carefully using the same ruler and scalpel. Choose one of the squares to be the frame and another to be the base. On the one you have chosen for the base, draw another inner square, leaving 5 cm on each of the edges; cut it at once. The piece that you cut in this step must be saved because the chips (puzzle) will go on it.
Step 2. Trace
On the square that we call puzzle, draw a grid of 9 parts (each one must have 5×5 cm). Number each grid with the marker from 1 to 9 and glue on it (on the side that is not marked) the print with the figure of the puzzle, using the glue. What you have to keep in mind is that the drawing in the print has a free corner (that it does not have any figure or drawing there) because there will be a piece that does not go inside the puzzle. Cut each of the 9 grids with the scalpel and remove at once the one that does not have a drawing.
Step 3. Line and assemble
Extend the piece of cloth and put on it the square that will serve as a frame and mark the painting. Cut and you can now glue the fabric on this piece. Now, glue a white sheet over the base square of cardboard (the one without any holes) and now glue this cardboard behind the frame (it should be left as a backing). Now insert the 8 tiles through the front of the frame and that’s it, you can start playing with your homemade puzzle. Let’s have fun!
