Process
Step 1. Mix
The first thing you should do is boil the straw in water to eliminate fungi that live in it. Then, mix the straw together with the compost (here we show you how to make compost), moistening a little with water while you do it.
Step 2. Locate
Place the mixture previously made in the box. Also place soil inside the box equivalent to 70% of its entire depth, and sprinkle the mycelium well so that it is separated. Finally, cover with a finger of moistened mulch and sprinkle with water.
Step 3. Cover
Cover the box with the lid, keeping light out of the box for 5-8 days. Also, keep the contents of the box moist until you see a whitish hair growing on the ground; this will mean that the mycelium has begun to germinate.
Step 4. Cover
After this time, you will have to prepare another lid for the box, since you will have to cover it with one that is high enough to allow the mushrooms to grow, and additionally open a central hole in it that will allow the indirect entry of a little light. At this point, you should also cover it with transparent paper so that it does not lose moisture or heat. You can collect the first production, more or less, after 20 days.
