A house in the mountains It is what our heart claims after months or years of stress. In Teregua, halfway between Bormio and Santa Caterina di Valfurva, in the heart of Valtellina, LupetTatelier designs the interior of a Mountain refugewithin a farm of the eighteenth century. In the midst of the soft pending of this mountain landscape, the Milanese study of architecture and interior design works in conjunction with the natural context of the building, transporting the essences and colors of the valley inside the floor. The owners of the house in the mountains They are two creative people, by passion and profession, she architect, the musician in her free time, and loves to spend on weekends in comfort that only the mountain can provide. In winter afternoons, when the sun gets and the sky is dyed pink, the mountain behind the building becomes a catalyst of the light, creating a curtain of winding background. Nature thus dominates architecture, dictates its laws and guides its design. The building, which was formerly used for agricultural activities, was recovered by Studio Zazzi in all its parts, starting with the original materials of the facade and the interior. The old traces of the building have thus returned to light, safeguarding them as valuable elements within the building itself, which today, at first glance, seems arrested in time.
Wood reigns in architecture
The wood From Alerce is undoubtedly the star of this project, chosen by its clear veteum and its delicate but warm tone. LupetTatelier uses this material to create a real box that houses the rooms and functions of the holiday house, far from the bustle of the city. «The materials that characterize the project are basically two: aler and pine wood for soils, walls and furniture, and iron for chimney, details and lamps,» explains Isabella Franco on the material elections that «decided the course of the entire project.» In fact, even fixed furniture and walls «treated in wood, Boiserie style, to include the three doors of the night area», using this ploy, in fact the lines of the doors are not distinguished between the veins of the wood and create a set with the wall, without visual interruptions. «Like the headboard of the bed of the main suite and the beds of the second bedroom, which incorporate the volumes of the bedside tables.» As if that were not enough, the furniture of the bathroom And the lobby staircase are a single piece of alerc wood. The exception? The local stone used for the lining of the bathroom: it enters the shower cabin and creates a beautiful color contrast with the warmth of the wood.
