Girl helps identify kidnapper with ‘Law and order UVE’ technique

After preventing a man from taking her by force, girl helped identify the kidnapper thanks to a technique he saw on the TV show Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Children are exposed to risks, so parents train them to avoid falling into the hands of criminals, both in real and virtual life. One of the greatest fears of any relative is that one of her children will be kidnapped and that, precisely, was what Alyssa Bonal, 11, avoided.

On May 18, 2021, she was on the streets of Pensacola, Florida (USA) waiting for her school bus when an unknown person tried to kidnap her. The incident was recorded on a security camera. In her video, it is observed how the man pounces on her and tries to take her loaded to her car; the girl struggles, both fall and the delinquent flees without achieving her goal.

It turns out that during the kidnapping attempt, the little girl was playing with slime (a malleable mass for children) dyed blue, so it occurred to her to apply a technique so that the police could identify the attacker.

“I was able to get the slime on my upper arm and a little bit on my lower arm. I knew it would be better to have evidence for the police to find him.”

Alyssa said in an interview with cbsnews.

Indeed, the man was identified by the authorities. This is Jarret Paul Stagna, 30, who had previously approached Alyssa, making her feel uncomfortable, so she began to be accompanied to wait for the school bus. The day of the attack was the first time that she had gone to the scene alone.

The girl clarified that she had seen that same maneuver in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. The protagonist of said series, Mariska Hargitay, saw the news in the media and made a post on Instagram saying that she was relieved and grateful to know that she was well, and that she felt honored to be part of that incredible story. She finally told him “you are a brave, strong and intelligent woman”.
