Given the scandal that his situation generated, the midfielder finally decided to break his silence and refer to the issue through a press release in which he thanked his family, relatives, admirers and directors of Colombian soccer for giving him their support.

Later spoke of the versions that circulated around the discussion and criticism against his father (because many assured that the altercation would have been his fault), for which he demanded respect.
“Regarding the versions that circulate on social networks about what happened, it is important to clarify that the statements that negatively point out my family are not true; I only ask for a little respect for them, especially for my children, who should not assume the consequences of my public exposure or my actions.”
