Curiosity piqued? Here we gossip about them!

7 foods to lose weight

-Legumes: Legumes like black beans and lentils are packed with resistant starches, which slowly release protein and energy, keeping you fuller longer.

“They are a special type of fiber that act as prebiotics to promote healthy gut bacteria and increase energy. When cooking legumes, include some type of vitamin C food, such as citrus or tomato, to increase iron absorption.”

Bontempo says

-Whole oats (not refined): “Oatmeal has soluble fiber, which means it absorbs water, cholesterol, and helps ward off a weak immune system,” says Bontempo.

In addition to filling you up, soluble fiber helps regulate blood glucose levels, meaning energy is delivered in a steady stream, rather than spikes and crashes.

-Yam: The fiber in these starchy vegetables will give you a slow and steady boost of energy; complex carbohydrates help fill you up fast, so you can more easily control portions.

-Vegetables of the cabbage family: “Vegetables like broccoli, brussels sprouts and kale help you lose weight because they are super low in calories and high in fiber and water.”

-Yogurt: “It can alter the gut microbiome to promote healthy metabolism and weight loss; Gut flora from a diet high in processed foods and refined sugar is associated with overweight, obesity, and metabolic syndrome.

-Tea: It contains hundreds of compounds that are beneficial for metabolism while offering a large amount of caffeine, to keep you alert without making you jittery.

-Avocado: “It provides a lot of energy but helps us digest fat more slowly than any other nutrient, in order to keep us full,” says Bontempo.
