Farm animals: definition

An animal that has been domesticated by humans and used for agriculture is generally referred to as livestock designated. This term is very negative – it sounds like would Cows, pigs, chickens, geese, sheep, goats and also fattening rabbit exist only for the purpose of human use – and not for their own sake. Unfortunately, there is no other generic term for animals in agriculture in German that we can use. At this point we expressly emphasize that every animal, including so-called farm animals, should have a good quality of life. All so-called farm animals in intensive animal husbandry have one thing in common: The focus of their husbandry is on economic efficiency. The animals live in a confined space, mostly without any access to the outside world or outlet. They are not allowed to act out their natural behaviors, even their basic needs are not being met. This leads, among other things, to great stress among the animals. Every year, several hundred million livestock suffer from industrial animal husbandry in Germany alone.
