‘Don’t talk about Bruno’, the most successful Disney song since 1995

The song There is no mention of Brunowhich is part of the Disney movie Charminspired by Colombia, broke all the records of said study in the lists of the most listened to.

Charm is a Disney animated movie inspired by Colombia which tells the story of the Madrigal family, who have a magical house and whose members have gifts with superhuman powers, except for the protagonist, Mirabel.

The villain of the family is Uncle Bruno, a character who locked himself in his own world to get away from those he loves most precisely because of his power, which they don’t like very much. As in many families, he is not talked about, and the song in which this character is introduced (in its English version) was the one that broke the record.

Although in most Disney animated films the villain presents himself, on this occasion the family is the one presenting him; that gives the song a richness that may be the key to its success.

Composed by Lin-Manuel Miranda (Moana, Mary Poppins Returns, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker) the song peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Top 100, becoming the most successful Disney song since 1995 with 29 million streams and 8,000 downloads sold to date. It thus surpassed topics such as Colors of the Wind(Pocahontas1995) and let it go (Frozen2013).
