Did you know that every drop of water counts?

Just as you read it: every drop of water we use (or waste) counts. Whether you think it’s something simple or very small, for someone in another part of Colombia it means everything.

Surely you already know that from your home, office or wherever you are, you can contribute your grain of sand to conserve water and benefit the areas and populations where this resource is almost a privilege.

What’s more, until very recently, people like Teresa Castro, an inhabitant of the Mojokimana community, near Riohacha, had to carry a container in a backpack and go to a distant mill to fetch water in 4 or 5 daily trips… Incredible! !

Reduce time in the shower:

Did you know that there are timers to calculate the time you last bathing? It is also important that you close the faucet while you lather. It is an action that will not only help the planet, but will also be reflected on your bill.

Place a bucket while you wait for the water to heat up

Many times we open the faucet and let the water run out while it reaches the ideal temperature. Our advice is to put a bucket and reuse the water to flush the cistern, bathe the dog, wash clothes or even the car.

Close the faucet while you soap your hands

No need to keep the faucet running while carefully lathering your hands. Drop by drop the water runs out!

Periodically check the pipes

Over the years the pipes wear out and those leaks, in addition to the waste of water, can cost you an arm and a leg.

Use rainwater to water your plants

It is the normal course of nature and if you have plants at home, what better than giving them a bath with the water that falls from the sky.

Use the washing machine with a full load

Do not wash with a half load or just one for a couple of garments. The waste of water is unnecessary.
Easy, right? That is why Agua Brisa wants you and all the people around you to join the Every Drop Counts campaign, so we will transform realities in many more places in the country and give use and value to this important resource. Share it and be part of the change!
