Anthony William, the medical medium, is not a doctor, but his numerous books on the health benefits of drinking pure celery juice on an empty stomach have helped cure hundreds of thousands of people from chronic diseases and other ailments, he said. There’s nothing wrong with trying it: green juice is supposed to have some amazing benefits.
You may want to consider drinking the ‘mighty miracle’ drink every day, according to Medical Mediumand spoke with Dr. Deborah Lee of Dr. Fox Online Pharmacy to find out if the science backs it up.

No studies have been done on celery juice and its healing powers, but incredible results have been reported by people who follow the Medical Medium movement.
Anthony Williams, author of Medical Medium Celery Juice: The Most Powerful Medicine of Our Time Healing Millions Worldwide is trying to get the word out about the «incredible healing properties» of celery juice, which remain largely undiscovered.
He wrote on his website: “The miracle herbal remedy that is celery juice is here for the chronically ill, for anyone living with a symptom or condition. It is here for you.
“One day, medical research and science will catch up with the millions of people who have found healing with celery juice, discovering more energy and stamina than ever before, reversing chronic and acute conditions alike, and regaining their lives.
“Someday they will discover that celery juice is not a fad or a setback. They will discover that it is, objectively, a curative medicine of our time”.
However, Dr. Deborah Lee of Dr. Fox Online Pharmacy she’s not so sure there’s anything special about this diet.
She said: “Medical Medium is to be commended for encouraging people to consume more plant foods, including celery, which is likely to be beneficial to health.
“However, all fruits and vegetables are well known to be good for our health. In fact, the current recommendation is to eat 10 servings a day, but this is not psychic. It’s common sense!»
If you are going to try to drink celery juice every day, The Medical Medium said you should drink pure celery juice on an empty stomach first thing in the morning.
recommended drink a glass or more without other ingredients 15 to 30 minutes before breakfast.
You should have breakfast afterwards because celery juice is «medicinal» not «caloric».
Use organic celery if you can, or just be sure to wash non-organic celery especially well before juicing.
Dr. Lee, on the other hand, felt that there is no way to get enough goodness out of celery juice rather than eating it whole.
She said: “Celery is rich in phytochemicals, and it certainly has health properties, but there is no benefit in juicing it, rather than eating raw celery. In fact, juicing reduces the fiber content of celery and reduces its health benefits.»
In addition to this, Dr. Lee said that the pulp, what remains of the fruit or vegetable after removing the juice, is really beneficial because it contains «a lot of vitamins, minerals and the most important fiber».
He added: “Nutritionists have studied this and found a greater amount of antioxidants in fruit juices where the pulp has been left.”
The declared benefits of celery juice
acid reflux
The Medical Medium said that celery juice is «critical» for acid reflux.
He explained on his site: “Acid reflux means three things are going on: low hydrochloric acid production, unproductive bacteria like strep and e.Coli, and a weakened liver. Celery juice helps improve them.”
However, some gastroenterologists said vitamins and minerals should not be taken on an empty stomach as they are likely to cause gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhoea, so it is not clear how this might help with acid reflux.
Swelling
If you suffer from bloating, you might benefit from celery juice, he said.
Mr. William argued: “Celery juice is a powerful stomach acid replenisher so gastric juices can kill strep, which causes SIBO.
«It also breaks down rotten proteins and rancid fats in the stomach and small intestinal tract, which helps with bloating.»
Celery is a low-FODMAP (a fermentable carbohydrate) food, and has been shown to a low-FODMAP diet improves bowel symptoms in patients with IBS. This could be why celery juice helps reduce swelling in some people.
Autoimmune disease
Celery juice helps cure autoimmune diseases, he claimed.
According to the expert: “Pathogens are the real cause of the inflammation that is mistakenly considered autoimmune.
«The undiscovered sodium cluster salts in celery juice can break down and kill these pathogens.»
Medical Medium’s claim that celery juice has the «incredible ability to create radical improvements for all sorts of ailments» is an exaggeration, Dr. Lee said.
She explained: “There is limited evidence from studies largely in rats and mice that celery can reduce inflammation, which may benefit conditions such as asthma and arthritis.
«Apigenin-fed mice were seen to improve cognition and researchers suggested it might play a role in preventing Alzheimer’s disease, but this is far from proven.»
reverse chronic disease
The views of Medical Medium are very controversial, but people with numerous chronic diseases have said that Celery juice has helped reverse his chronic illnesses.
The author said: “The undiscovered sodium cluster salts of celery juice act together as a antiseptic. When they come into contact with viruses and bacteria, the troublemakers responsible for chronic disease, the salts begin to break down the cell membranes of the pathogens, eventually destroying them.”
Despite the search, Dr. Lee said there seemed to be no such thing as cluster salt.
She explained: «Although celery has a relatively high salt (sodium) content for a vegetable, the dietitian states that it can be consumed, even by those on a low-salt diet.
«Personally, I would highlight the relatively high potassium content of celery, which may underlie any possible effects it may have on lowering blood pressure.»
liver toxins
The author wrote that celery juice helped neutralize and remove toxins from the liver.
He said: «The sodium cluster salts in celery juice bind to neurotoxins, dermal toxins, and other viral debris, as well as troublemakers, and pull them out of the liver.»
In reality, no one really knows what ‘cleanse and detox’ means.
Dr. Lee said, «Some people claim that various products detoxify and cleanse by stimulating the liver and kidneys to remove toxins from the body, but there is no medical evidence that this is the case.»
“Your body has a natural ability to deal with toxins and it is not known if cucumber juice or any other substance activates this better than any other.”
Our liver is affected by a poor diet and too much alcoholbut celery juice might help, William added.
He said: «Celery juice repairs hydrochloric acid and bile production in the liver»
This may sound impressive, but Dr. Lee said healthy people don’t get liver toxicity, so you don’t need to drink as much celery juice for this purpose.
Kills bacteria and viruses
According to Mr. William, drinking the green juice every day helped eradicate the strep bacteria.
He said that strep is responsible for many conditions such as acne, urinary tract infections, SIBO and yeast infections.
The author also said that celery juice can kill Epstein-Barr and Shingles viruses.
He explained on his website: «The white blood cells of the liver’s custom immune system add the cluster salts to the linings of their cell membranes, making them toxic to viruses.»
Celery contains high levels of vitamin C, which has been shown to help kill Epstein Barr virus in mice with lymphoma. But this does not necessarily mean that it will have the same effect in healthy humans.
Dr Lee said: “In a group of MRSA-infected rats, a 0.2 percent celery cream showed the best recovery in terms of wound healing compared to other creams tested.
«Although these are interesting results and positive observations, they are small animal studies and it cannot be assumed that the results simply translate to humans.»
