Brands that make a difference Vol.1

Purchases that contribute to a better world. And I definitely think you should know about them!

I love fashion, and therefore shopping, but for some time now I have changed my consumption habits, for example, I prefer to invest in a better quality garment than in many cheap ones that break or wear out in less time; I completely believe that a second-hand piece, in good condition, that someone else no longer uses can be brought to life, and I have been especially supporting new Colombian ventures. The best thing about this is that between searches and product recommendations I have found some stores that, in addition to selling things, are contributing to society and the planet.

1. PALOMA AND ANGOSTURA: This brand was born in 2014 with the idea of political scientist Pablo Restrepo who bet on peace. Their products in organic and recycled materials are made by ex-combatants and demobilized from Colombian violence, in addition, they allocate a percentage of sales to various social causes.

2. PROJECT OBJECT: Under the idea of #Oneforone, the objective of this brand is that when they buy one of their notebooks they give one to a poor child from the Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta.

3. TWO LATINA COMMUNITY: The creators of this brand above all want to be a community dedicated to PRO of human rights. Their products, which transmit messages of empowerment, politics and equality, are the economic source for them to carry out activities and workshops in which they touch on issues such as feminism, LGBTIQ, the Colombian conflict, among others…

4.WILD AND PACIFIC: It is an ECO-FRIENDLY swimwear brand that is united with another Italian company that created ECONYL, a comfortable and resistant material that is made with plastic waste that reaches the sea, such as fishing nets.

5. NATIVE STUDIO: Rescuing inherited techniques, the creators of this project work with the support of Valle del Cauca artisans, who are in charge of capturing 100% handmade embroidered products in their embroidered products. A conscientious and artisan work.

These are just some of them, the idea of this section is to find more and more brands that contribute in a social and/or ecological way to the planet. So if you know of any, or better yet, have one, leave it in the comments, I’ll be reading them. Let’s help live better with small changes!
