The ideal is to visit them in the spring time, specifically from March to May, which is when the flowering period begins. In March the season begins with crocuses, then daffodils, hyacinths and finally the dazzling tulips.
To visit the fields, it is recommended to start in the bulb-growing region, since it is one of the easiest to reach by bicycle or on foot, due to its short route, approximately 15 minutes. The vast majority of tulip fields are in the Polder, Noordoostpolder in the province of Flevoland. Another magnificent area to admire tulips is the coast of The Hague, Leiden and Alkmaar.
Also, you can enjoy the largest flower exhibition in the world, in the Keukenhof flower park, which has an area of 32 hectares, with more than 2,700 trees completely surrounded by tulips, daffodils, among other bulbs.
This park is located between Amsterdam and The Hague, in the Lisse region, about thirty minutes from Amsterdam, you can access it by private car or by train and purchase tickets online where you will find information of interest to tourists, from the most recommended days to visit, in this case – Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday – until the time you should arrive to get the best photos.
