New big cat station opened in Rhineland-Palatinate

Big cats that have lived in captivity for a long period of time can no longer be released into the wild. In the stations, they can rediscover and live out their natural instincts and behavior. On Wednesday, August 5th, the new big cat station was officially opened on the grounds of the animal sanctuary TIERART eV in Maßweiler, Rhineland-Palatinate. In addition to Cara, the two Tiger siblings Bela and Sharuk have also found a new home here since July 31st. They come from a private keeping in Mittelbuch (Baden-Württemberg)
Campaign for big cats in need: #FOURPAWSgowild
With the current #VIERPFOTENgowild campaign, is focusing on the suffering of big cats. For each problem – big cats kept privately, circuses, zoos and canned hunting (a cruel form of trophy hunting) – animals were selected as examples that have a moving history and are now being rescued by . From July 20th to August 30th, animal lovers can become active: Under the motto «FOUR LINES for «, the foundation calls for short, concise texts to deal with the core problems of keeping big cats. Everything is allowed: Whether rhyme, poem, rap or short message, there are no limits to creativity. The community can easily display their meaningful quatrains with a suitable photo in an online gallery via a Facebook application.
