We loved the new version of Ungrateful by Andrea Echeverri, vocalist of the Aterciopelados, although some were not convinced…

Andrea is one of the most important artists of the Colombian rock and pop scene, in fact, she is a living legend of music, because the songs of Aterciopelados are soundtracks of life of almost all.

look at the version of Ungrateful by Andrea Echeverri and Café Tacvba

The singer and potter was invited by the also legendary band Café Tacvba to get on stage and sing an alternative version of the song in full concert Ungrateful.

And it is that Café Tacvba took advantage of the celebration of its 30 years of artistic career to vindicate this song with a new letter by the vocalist of Aterciopelados.

Look at the letter…

“I don’t care if you love me, okay mother if you leave me. I come to break your sword, to send you to hell.

Ungrateful…

Because I’m independent, because I don’t need you. I’m not your half rib, it’s respect I demand.

Ungrateful…

Tolerance is flag.”

The new letter says

Immediately, the networks were filled with flattery in favor of this version…

However, he also received criticssome of them with arguments, others, so poor that they show why we must fight against machismo and misogyny.

“Rubén (Albarrán) contacted me and told me that they were turning 30 and that they had not sung “Ingrata” three years ago because of its content. That song has a lot of popular culture, similar to “La estaca” (by Aterciopelados) or “Rosita Elvirez” (by Antonio Aguilar). They are exaggerated or humorous. But in the context of now an aggressive thing appeared, which incites things that they (Café Tacvba) do not share and they decided not to sing it anymore. So Rubén contacted me and told me ‘do what you want’ with the song and then it was nice, right?
