Ingredients

  • 200 grams of butter at room temperature
  • 3 egg yolks
  • Lemon zest
  • 300 grams of cornstarch
  • 200 grams of flour
  • A teaspoon of vanilla essence
  • 150 grams of powdered sugar
  • Caramel sauce

Preparation

Step 1. Pour

Take a large bowl and pour the butter there. With the help of a spatula or a fork, crush it until it is like a kind of puree. Also add the powdered sugar in this bowl. To do it, put a strainer and pass the sugar through it so that it filters and there are no lumps; beat until these ingredients are blended. Add the three egg yolks and stir. Add the lemon zest and the vanilla oil, mixing everything so that it is perfectly integrated.

Step 2. Mix

Take another bowl and add the cornstarch and flour there so that they mix. You must pass both through the strainer to avoid lumps. Pour this content into the bowl that has the mixture from the previous step, straining it again directly. Now, with the help of your hands, go mixing all the ingredients until you get a homogeneous mass. Later form a single ball of this dough, put it on a flat surface and knead until it does not stick to your hands and has a soft consistency. Finally wrap it in transparent paper and let it rest in the freezer for 30 minutes.

Step 3. Stretch

Once this time has passed, remove it from the packaging and put it back on a flat surface sprinkled with flour so that the dough does not stick. With the help of a rolling pin, stretch it until it is a few millimeters thick. Using the mouth of a plate or circular molds, cut the dough and put these pieces on a tray that resists the oven, separated from each other because they will grow.

Step 4. Bake

Your oven should be preheated to about 180 degrees for a few minutes. Put the tray in the oven at this temperature for about 15 minutes or until the pieces look cooked like a soft cookie. After this time, put them on a rack or a plate to cool down. Now, add the dulce de leche to some halves and cover them with the other half. Finally, sprinkle more powdered sugar (passed through a sieve) and they are ready to give them a taste. Bon Appetite.
