Many meteorites tend to disintegrate in the atmosphere, before reaching Earth. But on Sunday at 9:00 p.m., a meteorite landed unexpectedly in Uruapan, in Mexican territory. This caused fear not only in the inhabitants of Michoacán, but even in those of other states, such as Jalisco and Guerrero, in whose skies the blue glow of the unsuspected celestial body could be seen.
This Sunday night was seen from several points of #Michoacanparticularly in Uruapan, a luminous light that crossed the sky, approaching the earth. https://t.co/h0q0JgymX7 – La Jornada (@lajornadaonline) May 27, 2019
The fall of the meteorite in Uruapan caused a slight earthquake and a general failure in telecommunications. However, after the scare and the detail, it is worth looking at the photographs and videos that could be taken of this unique event. And it is that few are the meteorites whose fall has been recorded: until 2006, there were barely 1,050.

But in addition to this cosmic romanticism, something should be added about this event, which is that it occurred in an area of the country where, in recent days, a large number of forest fires have occurred. Unfortunately, these have been caused by the dispute over avocado farmland, for which many users on social networks, as well as activists, have called for an environmental emergency to be declared in the region.
It seems that the cosmos wants to tell us something…
