Many times we have talked about reaching old age and being forgotten in a place far from the family, but the story that we are going to know today really broke our hearts.
Wolfram and Anita Gottschalk they cry every time they see each other, and they do so once a week, because the residence in the Canadian town where they lived only has a place for one of them.
They have been married for 62 years, but now they have to live apart even though they don’t want to. Therefore, every time they have the opportunity to see each other, the same scene of tears and sadness is repeated. «I just want to be able to see them together,» explains his granddaughter Ashley Bartyikas collected CBCNews.
Wolf, 83, and Anita, 81, are in separate residences, although the health authorities of the region in which they live indicate that they are working to reunite the couple. The man has dementia and was diagnosed with lymphoma in January, so he can no longer live in his house because he requires a lot of care. That’s why he moved to Yale Road Centerwhere he has lived apart from his wife for the last eight months. Anita lives in another center 30 minutes by car from her spouse.

“This is the saddest photograph I have ever taken”points out the granddaughter, adding that “they cry every time they see each other, which breaks the heart”.
From Wolf’s residence they indicate that there is no space in their facilities for the two of them, so they have to wait for another bed to become free so that it is possible for them to live together again.
