Strict diet for 5 days a month would improve health

New study indicates that Buddha was right: fasting or eating very little could be good for your health.

If your goal is to have better health, you no longer have to starve yourself all month… just a few days, well a new study suggests that a diet sporadic with some mild deprivation can not only help with weight loss, but also confer other benefitsas published by the magazine Science.

The researchers put several volunteers on a diet, feeding them as few calories as possible (between 725 and 1,090) for 5 days a month. People with calorie restrictions reduced their belly fat, their blood sugar and insulin level decreased And surprisingly, it might also have increased your ability to restore and replenish your tissues.

Calorie restriction has failed miserably in human trials because it is so difficult to adhere to. A regimen like the one the researchers used is achievablesaid to Science gerontologist Rafael de Cabo, of the National Institute on Aging in Baltimore, Maryland.
