The word Exemption can sound very strange when we pronounce it because we don’t use it very often, it can even be confused with the word exception because they have a similar pronunciation. So you don’t get confused between these two words, see what they mean and some examples.
*Exemption: Exempt a person from something or tax advantage from which a taxpayer can benefit. Eg “tax exemptions; tax exemptions”
*Exception: Exclusion of a person or thing from the generality of what it is about or from the common rule. E.g. “I never eat candy, but today I will make an exception”
