For the first time in three years, the Pantone Institute, in charge of standardizing colors for design, has created a new color inspired by the Miniosthose little and crazy characters who were Gru’s accomplices in the movie My favorite villain.
Just as the sun’s rays bring us to life, Pantone Minion Yellow is a color that heightens awareness and creates clarity, lighting the way to open-minded intelligence, originality, and ingenuity; this is the color of hope, joy and optimismLeatrice Eiseman, executive director of Pantone, explained in a press release.
As reported by ComicBookResources, the idea came to singer-songwriter Pharrell Williamswho produced the film’s soundtrack, which led to the collaboration between Pantone and Illumination Entertainment.
