1. He still loves her
It may be that he never really stopped loving her, which doesn’t mean he doesn’t love you back. She’s probably the one who doesn’t want to go back to him, even though she still likes to see him from time to time.
2. Custom
If your relationship with your ex was long and there was cohabitation, children, etc., it is very difficult to cut that connection suddenly, especially if they ended on good terms. He may be used to not only her, but also her body.
3. Ease
If you already know that your guy is a womanizer, and because of that you have all the alarms going on, it is probably easier for him to have something with an ex than with a new person who could raise more suspicions.
4. Confidence
It is likely that he trusts his ex more than you do (especially if he lasted longer with her) and he may feel that he can trust her to commit an infidelity, since he believes that she will not give him away or be jealous.
5. She looks for him
