In 1995, Cartoon Network began broadcasting the famous Pinky and the Brain cartoon produced by the great Steven Spielberg. This was the story of two mice who had a single plan that they did every night: try to conquer the world. In the 66 episodes that made up this animated series, the two laboratory rodents managed to amuse us and remind us that even intelligence needs some madness.

90s Cartoons Nickelodeon

There was no childhood or semi-adolescence, if you did not see Rugrats or in Spanish ¨Aventuras en Pañales¨. Launched in 1991 and created by Arlene Klasky and Gábor Csupó, this series told us the incredible stories of Tommy, Carlitos Baldosa and Phil, Lil and Angelica. Although the adults never realized it, these babies talked and lived in a magical world that we all loved. Such was its success, that 3 films based on this series were made.

To the multiple successes of Mickey’s house, we must add a story that seemed grim and dark: Gargoyles. The first of its 78 episodes created by Frank Paur was broadcast in 1994 and this series told incredibly many stories associated with humanity, wars, drama and art worldwide.

Cartoons of the 90s in Colombia

The Looney Tunes marked an era in Colombia. Bugs Bunny (created in 1940) commanded the series together with Daffy Duck, the Tasmanian Devil, Tweety, Silvestre, Coyote and Roadrunner, among other characters that today are immortal and still accompany the new generations. There are multiple tapes that have been inspired by these characters, they even played basketball together with Michael Jordan in the movie Space Jam.

Cartoons from the 90s to watch

Cartoons were also called animated dolls or animations and perhaps one of the most remembered series of this genre is Captain Tsubasa or «Super Champions». The story of Oliver Atom, Benji Price, Steve Hyuga, Tom Misaki and Roberto Cediño, among others, was created by Yōichi Takahashi in 1981 and showed the life of a Japanese boy who dreamed of being the best soccer player in the world. In the 90s this program had its great boom, a time when soccer became very popular among children.
