When I was a child, my grandmother prepared us this Choco Krispis bars recipe for dessert to all the grandchildren. She would lock herself in the kitchen and the smell of marshmallows mixed with cereal would instantly take us out of wherever we were playing.

I cannot describe the emotion I felt when, on a recent trip, I was offered these cereal bars with Choco Krispis; I went back to my childhood with each bite.

How to make a recipe for cereal bars with Choco Krispis

My grandmother prepared this cereal bar recipe with rice krispis or fresi krispis, but since they are hardly available now, I decided to share with you one of the Chocolate Krispies recipes, which are the most easily available puffed rice cereals in Colombia. Here I leave them, let it be the plan for this weekend!

Ingredients

  • 6 cups of Chocolate Krispies
  • Marshmallows: about 12 medium
  • 100 g of chocolate to melt
  • A personal pack of m&m’s (100 g)
  • colored sparks
  • Half a stick of butter (60 g)

Preparation of the Choco Krispis bar recipe

Step 1: Melt

Put only the butter first to melt In a saucepan over low heat, add the marshmallows and stir with a spatula until the mixture forms a thick mass.

Step 2: Stir

Before the melted marshmallow cream hardens, add the 6 cups of Choco Krispis to a medium bowl and then add the marshmallow cream and m&m’s. Stir the mixture quickly with the spatula before it hardens.

Step 3: Flatten

Cover a medium glass refractory with aluminum foil, add the mixture and flatten it strongly with the spatula throughout the refractory in a uniform way.

Step 4: Refrigerate

Take the flattened mixture in the refractory to the refrigerator for 20 minutes. Later, when removing it from the refrigerator, it is proceeded to cut it with a knife into rectangles so that it is in the form of bars.

The last step to make cubes of chocolate krispies: Decorate and serve

Melt the chocolate using the bain-marie technique. Spread the chocolate on the cereal bars with a spatula, add the colored sparks and… enjoy!
