The perfect department for a class single

The dream of many single is to live in a perfect apartment in the center of the city. Patrick Janelle, a influencer of the lifestyle and director of the Untitled Secret talent agency, fantasized with an industrial -style house. Therefore, when he had to leave his last department, he knew that the time had come to make his dream come true.

«I am very romantic in my ideals about how I imagine things for me and my life in New York,» says Patrick. «I've always been clear that I want to live in Manhattan «Although I think Brooklyn is great,» and so far I had never had the opportunity to live in the perfect department. «

As Patrick could not afford to buy the type of spacious loft I wanted, He focused his search on places that would allow him to remodel. After several visits, he finally found exactly what he was looking for: a generous three -bedroom floor in an industrial building in the early twentieth century with a very indulgent landlord and a privileged location.

In another blow of luck, the owner agreed to tear down a dividing wall, which gave Patrick an advantage in remodeling. When he moved, the place had a living-dining-dining room space, a single and cozy room, and an office space for the Untitled Secret team (a fundamental requirement in his search). Patrick too was delighted with architectural details: 3 meters high ceilings, moldings and huge windows, one of which has French doors that open to the fire staircase, similar to a small patio: «Although the center of the department is a bit dark, a pleasant natural light enters on both sides, which is a wonderful characteristic,» he reflects. Although the existing wooden floor was not historical, it was worth keeping it. Patrick sanded the dark varnish and sealed the newly exposed natural wood with a matt finish. Replaced the old tiles of the kitchen and bathroom with fresh oak planks.

When choosing a style for remodeling, Patrick consulted Lyndsay Caleo and Holly Waterfield from The Brooklyn Home Company. The duo suggested that follow your instincts to channel a diverse mixture of influences. He mixed elements of a New York artists, a Parisian department and a country house to create their own appearance.
