Soumaya Museum

Inaugurated in March 2011, this cultural enclosure located in the Polanco area, one of the most exclusive in the city, has hosted great artistic exhibitions. It houses the collection of the Carlos Slim Foundation, a collection of more than 70,000, among which are pieces of Augusto Rodin, Monet, Renoir, Diego Rivera, José Clemente Orozco and David Alfaro Siqueiros, among others.

His unusual design has made him creditor of an international fame. It was designed by Mexican architect Fernando Romero, with the advice of Frank Gehry; Its structure has a height of 46 meters and is made up of 28 columns of curved steel of different diameters and seven perimeter beams that provide stability. With an avant -garde morphology, the Soumaya Museum defines a new paradigm in the history of Mexican architecture.

Tlatelolco housing complex

Contained by the most important road axes in the city: North insurgent, central axis and Paseo de la Reforma, This housing unit divided into three sections represents the basis of the modern movement in Mexico, in addition to student movement of 1968.

Its construction began in 1960 and was in charge of the architect Mario Pani. Of its three sections, highlights the housing unit 3 known as The Republicwhich houses the Plaza de las Tres Culturas, the archaeological zone of Tlatelolco and the Temple of Santiago Apostle. It also has the second highest building in the team, the Tlatelolco Tower, designed in 1966 by the architect Pedro Ramírez Vázquez.
