In 1919 a school was born in Germany that defined a good part of the style in several design areas in the 20th century : the Bauhaus (whose translation would be «construction house»). Its principles appealed to the unification of the arts for the creation of a New aesthetic and the return the artisanal character to artistic disciplines. Therefore, its members and the works they developed were part of the avant -garde of the time, a time when the roads were tried so far imposed on design and composition, and that were marked by political and cultural changes after the First World War.
The period of existence of the Bauhaus school It occurred until 1933when the Nazi ascent forced to close it because it was considered subversive, since several of its exponents had to flee from the country. But in their life, also marked by three venues in different parts of Germany and three directors, the artistic legacy grew and the same extended to the objects as to the architecture.
In this area, the Bauhaus He lived a special chapter: the three directors of the school were architects: Walter Gropius (founder), Hannes Meyer and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. On the other hand, the concepts of the school moved to the creation of real estate in the simplification of forms, the emphasis on functionality and geometry, and the use of basic materials.
This is visible in several iconic buildingsnot only of those years, but of several decades later in which their influences remained. Here, we have prepared a list of those who marked the history of the Architecture under the seal of La Bauhaus.
