Ingredients

  • Half a cup of brown or white sugar
  • Half a pound of clean blackberries
  • A handful of cloves

Preparation

Step 1. Cook

The first thing you should do is clean the blackberries (if you haven’t already done so). Remove the twig from the top and, if you wish, wash them a bit and let them drain on absorbent paper. Now, pour them into a saucepan over low heat and add the sugar and some cloves. Stir all the ingredients to mix them perfectly and cover the pot. This first step will caramelize the blackberries with the sugar, while the cloves will release a delicious aroma.

Step 2. Boil

You should be careful that the blackberries release the syrup and that the sauce that is forming thickens. Check 15 minutes after covering the pot how the cooking is going. After this time, remove the lid a little so that some oxygen enters the preparation. About 10 minutes after this action, remove the lid and if you see that the sweet is thick and the blackberries have been discarded a little, it will be ready. Your blackberry candy will be ready.
