Ingredients

  • 2 cups grated coastal cheese
  • 2 cups of cornmeal
  • 1 tablespoon of cassava starch
  • ½ cup of milk
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • oil for frying

Preparation and how the fritters are made

Step 1. Mix

In a large bowl, mix all ingredients except oil until smooth.

Step 2. Make balls with the dough

Take portions of the dough and shape them into rounds, about the size of a small ball that fits comfortably in your hand.

Step 3. Fry

Heat the oil and when it is hot (but not too high) fry the fritters. Turn them constantly so they cook well on the inside and crisp on the outside.

Step 4. Serve and enjoy!

10 minutes later or when the fritters have a golden color, remove them, let them drain the oil on kitchen paper or napkins, and voila!
