Iodine remedies for nail fungus, warts and more

After publishing, we have received several requests to address the issue of iodine and the home remedies that can be used with it.

Indeed, iodine (tincture, white iodine, etc.) can be used as a remedy for different ailments, but the caveat is made that its application should only be done externally and not internally.

In general, in these cases, white iodine is used, which is nothing more than a reduced solution of iodine and potassium iodide in alcohol, ammonium hydroxide and water and is very effective in combating fungus, warts, buried nails, among others. .

Remedy with iodine to remove warts: Apply a few drops of iodine to the wart and then put a bandage on it. Carry out this remedy every day until the wart disappear.

Remedy with iodine for bedsores or decubitus ulcers: Mix 1 tablespoon of milk of magnesia and another one of iodine and apply this mixture on the affected area several times a day.

Remedy with iodine for nail fungus: Pour, into a transparent enamel jar with part of its content inside, a clove of garlic chopped into small pieces, 7 drops of lemon and 3 of iodine. Leave to rest for a week and, after that time, apply a layer a day (only on the nail with fungus) for 15 days. Remove, then, with nail polish remover. As a preventive measure, you can put several drops of lemon juice daily on the nails that are not infected.

Remedy with iodine for ingrown or ingrown toenail: Boil 3 tobacco leaves in a cup of water for 5 minutes and then add 1 tablespoon of salt and 5 drops of iodine. Apply several times a day directly or with a gauze or cotton ball on the ingrown toenail.

Remedy with iodine to have a wasp waist: Pour 1 handful of seaweed into 2 cups of boiling water (if you cannot find natural seaweed, you can use 2 seaweed capsules that can be obtained at botanical pharmacies or herbalists). Iodine remedy for varicose veins Boil a handful of chopped mastic shell in a liter of water for 10 minutes. After that time, remove from the heat and let it cool down. Apply compresses on the Varicose ulcers. For greater healing power add 5 drops of white iodine.

Iodine remedy for dandruff: Boil for 5 minutes in 1 cup of water the shells of 4 potatoes. Cover and let cool. Add 20 drops of white iodine and the juice of a lemon. Put this preparation in the refrigerator inside a glass bottle. Pour the amount to be applied into a container with a spray bottle and do not rinse.

Remedy with iodine for bunions: Pour a few drops of iodine into a aspirin previously crushed and reduced to powder and then mixed until a paste is achieved. Apply directly to the bunions and after 30 minutes, remove with water.

Precautions

Do not use excessive iodine, as it could cause skin irritation and eye damage.
