Melilot remedies for circulation, varicose veins and more

Sweet clover, also called royal clover or sweet clover, is a biennial herb that belongs to the legume family and measures between 40 cm and more than 1 meter in height.

Its stem is erect and the leaves are trifoliate, with lanceolate or oblong and toothed leaflets. As for its flowers, they are yellow, very small, grouped in elongated clusters. The fruit is a small ovoid pod, apiculate, about 3 mm long, marked by transverse veins.

It is found in almost all of Europe, except in the extreme south. It grows along roadsides, in meadows, and generally in clayey and saline soils. When dry, it gives off a very pleasant aroma.

The flowering top is used and its harvesting is carried out when the plant has fully developed the flowers, from the month of May. They must be dried as quickly as possible, in the shade and, once dried and chopped, stored in tightly closed jars protected from light.
