Marcel properties
The entire plant (aerial parts), leaves, flowers and stems are used for curative purposes. Inflorescences are preferred.
The infusions of the stems are recommended in case of coughasthma and as a pectoral in the cold.
It has a sedative action, so it is useful in intestinal colic and gastritis and as a menstrual regulator. Other classic indications are rheumatism and diabetes.
It is used as a smooth muscle relaxant and for its hepatoprotective activity (decreases elevated levels of transaminases and increases levels of glutathione), as well as in the treatment of flu and viral infections.
Externally, it is used in the form of irrigations for vaginal infections and in the form of baths in the treatment of acne and in various skin diseases.
It has been observed in clinical trials that the extracts of this plant have a neuroprotective action and antioxidant, with possible cytoprotective and preventive action of the alterations produced by sunlight on the skin. Possibly it also has some regulatory action on the cholesterol, perhaps due to its hepatoprotective action. Next let’s see how Marcela’s tea lowers the pressure:
