7 ways to celebrate Men’s Day

International Men’s Day is celebrated every year on November 19.. Its goal is to celebrate the achievements and contributions of men in society and in their families, highlight the legacy of different male leaders, focus on men’s health and well-being, and improve gender relations. Here are seven ways to celebrate this date.

1. Invite a man you admire to dinner

In celebration of International Men’s Day, recognize a male figure who has a positive impact on your life. He can be your father, your mentor, a friend or a relative. Recognize someone who has a positive influence on you, whom you respect and take as inspiration. Perhaps he is someone who made a big difference in your life with his advice, lessons, or encouragement. Take him out to dinner and thank him for the positive impact he has made on your life.

2. Forgive someone or contact an old friend

Perhaps you had an argument with someone and have wanted to make peace for a long time. To celebrate the emotional well-being of men, find that person. Perhaps enough time has passed to see things more clearly, or perhaps you are ready to forgive what happened. It can be very beneficial to a man’s well-being to lift these metaphorical weights off his shoulders through forgiveness and reconciliation.

3. Raise awareness about male cancers

Join the Movember movement (if you haven’t already) and raise awareness about men’s health. Use your social networks to raise awareness about male cancers, such as prostate and testicular cancer. Help spread the word about it and demystify men’s health care. Also, today is a great day to donate or raise money to fight the male cancer of your choice.

4. Stop procrastinating and fulfill what you propose

Remember that brilliant business plan you thought of but never started? What about that trip to Europe you’ve been putting off? Stop procrastinating and start today to meet your goals. Do something you’ve been putting off, or try something new you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t dared.

5. Go for a walk with the men in your family

Celebrate the men in your life who matter most: the ones who are always there. Gather your brothers, your brother-in-law, your dad and your uncle and do something together. Celebrate family and the important roles each of you have within that circle. Not only that; also celebrate how lucky you are to have all those wonderful figures in life.

6. Remember a great man and celebrate his life

Today is the perfect day to celebrate a great man. Perhaps you can honor your grandfather by visiting what used to be his favorite restaurant and ordering his favorite food and drinks while sharing memories of him. If you lost someone or know someone who did, honor them and celebrate their life today.

7. Be a role model for someone younger.

Spend time with your nephew or younger brother; you probably don’t notice it, but for them those moments are important. You could also celebrate men’s well-being by becoming an inspiration to a boy or teen in need. You can visit hospitals or rehabilitation centers and spend time with young people who need words of encouragement. Believe it or not, these small actions can change people’s lives.
