What was the first TV series?

Despite the market being dominated by the US, the first TV series in history came from England. Starred by the British James Hayter, Pinwright’s Progress premiered in November 1946 and lasted only one season, ending in May 1947. There were ten episodes, 30 minutes long, recorded in a London theater and broadcast live on the BBC channel. They showed the misadventures of J. Pinwright as he tried to run Macgillygally’s. But, every day, he had to overcome difficulties imposed by a rival and by the employees themselves.
