Danyang Bridge

According to Guinness, the book of records, it is the Great Bridge of Danyang-Kunshan, in China, with 164.8 km. Inaugurated in June 2011, it is a railway viaduct, part of a route that connects the cities of Shanghai and Beijing. The bridge crosses terrain with many rivers, lakes and canals, hence the need for elevation. China built the bridge in just four years, employing 10,000 workers and spending about $8.5 billion. In Rio de Janeiro, the Rio-Niterói bridge, with its 14 km in length – almost 9 of them over the sea -, remains the largest prestressed concrete bridge (reinforced with steel cables) in the Southern Hemisphere.
