The episode was heavily criticized for making fun of a difficult subject, domestic violence, and for seeming to blame the situation on Brenda. To make matters worse, do you know what was the solution given to the problem? Peter and Quagmire kill Jeff!

Hosted by series creator Seth MacFarlane, this special chapter mixes live action scenes, musical skits and guests. Backstage, however, was even more hectic than what was going on in front of the cameras. The company Microsoft pulled its sponsorship of the episode after it saw the script, filled with jokes about incest, the deaf, feminine hygiene and the Holocaust.

As is to be expected, the show has already made up many fights with the FCC, acronym in English for Federal Communications Commission. It regulates everything shown in the US, censoring what it considers inappropriate. In this episode, Peter releases his voice in a song that makes fun of the body’s criteria, ordering the FCC to stick its fines and threats in that part of the body where the sun does not shine.

Peter offers himself as a guinea pig in scientific tests and one of them «turns» him gay. The premise is merely an excuse for very risqué jokes – Peter has an orgy with 11 men and Stewie drinks a bowl of horse semen! The Parents Television Council group publicly condemned Fox and, of course, asked that the attraction be fined by the FCC.

The drawing has already had violent scenes capable of leaving Tarantino’s films in the slipper. But nothing beats this story, in which Stewie kills his own mother with ten shots from a machine gun! In the following episode, the beef gets more serious, when Lois sets out for revenge. The fight between the two includes punches in the face, stabbings, chairs, flamethrowers and much, much blood.

Family Guy it doesn’t even spare Anne Frank, the little girl victim of Nazi persecution, whose diary made millions of people around the world cry. According to this episode, Hitler’s soldiers discovered her and her family’s hiding place because Peter, also hiding with them, made a lot of noise eating a snack. The Fox channel tried to take the scene off the internet.

Deep in debt, Peter asks a shooting star to give him «a Jew» as a gift. It was a joke on the alleged financial prowess of Jews – a stereotype that the US Jewish community hates. The Fox channel considered the episode so offensive that it refused to air it. It only aired in 2003, when the paid channel Cartoon Network started to reprise the series.

Lois agrees to be the “surrogacy” of an old college roommate. But before giving birth, the child’s parents die in an accident. And now? Should she abort? Any other series would make its protagonist have the child. But not Family Guy. Lois terminates the pregnancy. To date, the episode has not been shown in the US. It is only available on DVD

2. Sticking your finger in the wound

Stewie and Brian stir up the biggest hornet’s nest in recent US history: the September 11, 2001 attacks. They go back in time to stop them, and upon returning to the present, they discover that, without the heightened , the US entered a new Civil War. Controversial conclusion: Al-Qaeda’s attacks actually did the country good!

Yet another controversy caused by time travel (and speaking of Nazism!). Trapped in World War II Germany, Stewie disguises himself as Hitler. On his lapel, he wears a button of John McCain and Sarah Palin, candidates for President and Vice President of the USA in 2008. Several newspapers complained about this not-so-subtle way of calling Barack Obama’s rivals Nazis
