is committed to a fur-free Europe and is the official representative of the Fur Free Retailer Program in Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, South Africa and Australia. The International Animal Welfare Foundation offers support and advice to companies that are striving for a verifiably fur-free restart. For this purpose, is available as a contact and mediator for the high-profile entry into the international FFR program.

“More than 1570 national and international fashion companies have already joined the Fur Free Retailer program. We are also happy to offer Wormland our support with a transition to a fur-free future,» says Sven Wirth.

The cruel business behind fashion with fur

The fur industry is a merciless business: locked in tiny wire cages, foxes, raccoon dogs and other animal species await their senseless death on fur farms. At the age of a few months, the animals are killed in front of their fellow animals, for example by electric shocks or gas, and then end up as jacket collars or hat bobbles. There is no such thing as ethical fur. The deaths of wild coyotes, lynx, and other animals by trapping for fur are no less brutal.

The European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI) Fur Free Europe

launched the European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI) Fur-free Europe with an alliance of animal welfare organizations. The aim of the petition, which will run until March 1, 2023 and is now supported by 77 European groups and has already been signed by more than 1.5 million citizens, is an EU-wide ban on keeping and killing fur animals for the purpose of fur production . Furs and fur products from fur farming are also to be banned from the European market.
