20 amazing uses for baking soda

It seems like a home remedy from the time of our ancestors, but baking soda is a kind of panacea for many physical ailments. Since one of its virtues is to dilate the blood veins, this salt allows oxygen to disperse throughout the body and the pH in the blood to balance and, therefore, it has been used as a treatment for conditions such as heartburn, gastritis , arthritis, osteoporosis, diabetes and cancer.

But these are not the only benefits of baking soda, in fact, this salt has many uses, so it can be used for caring for plants and cleaning the home. Here is a list of the different ways you can take advantage of this basic element:

For cleaning:

Removes oil and grease stains. Sprinkle baking soda over the spot and scrub with a wet brush.

Disinfects and whitens various surfaces –from a bathtub to tiles, tiles or the kitchen–. On a damp sponge sprinkle baking soda and scrub as you normally do. Then let it rest for 5 minutes, rinse well and dry.

clean the floors. Remove dirt without leaving scratches with 1/2 cup of baking soda dissolved in a bucket of warm water.

Remove bad odors from shoes. Sprinkle a tablespoon or two on shoes while you’re not wearing them, and stir in the baking soda when you’re ready to wear them.

It is an exfoliant for face and body. You only need to mix 3/4 baking soda and 1/4 water. Gently rub over face or body in circular motions, then rinse.

It is a natural deodorant. Mix a pinch of baking soda with drops of water and apply directly to underarms.

Reduces the feeling of tiredness in the feet. Submerge your feet in a bowl with warm water and three tablespoons of baking soda. Rub and let sit for a few minutes. Add a few drops of lavender essential oil.

For the plants:

– Fungicide. Mix one gallon of water with four tablespoons of baking soda. Apply it to rose bushes to combat fungal black spots, or on fruit trees or plants when they begin to appear.

– Strengthen your plants. You will make photosynthesis greater (and thus strengthen your plant and grow more leaves). First you should try the leaves because some plants do not do very well. Make a mixture with a little baking soda with vinegar. In 24 hours check the plant, if it goes well, you can continue with the process.

– Against parasites. Add a tablespoon to 1 liter of water and spray or dust a little on the surface of the substrate.

– To remove wild grass. Put a thick layer of baking soda on the grass you want to kill and in about 2-3 days the grass should start to die.

– Drive away pests. Spread a little baking soda in the soil of your garden: ants, rabbits or cockroaches will avoid approaching.
