THE ART OF PALM READING

In order to understand time, it was divided into past, present and future without this implying a certainty.. According to quantum physics these three states happen at the same time, but in different dimensions. For this reason, faced with a hypothetical journey through time, scientists debate «the truth» about how to get to the future if it has not yet happened in our dimension. How about if through palmistry, we learn the art of reading the palm and the future.

However, palmistry, a word that derives from the Greek chiro-keir (hand) and logia-logos (study-science), is in charge of studying the morphology of the hands, palms, fingers and lines with the purpose of associating through comparison of psychological and physiological profiles of individuals.

Nevertheless, although the etymology of the word places us in ancient GreeceSome connoisseurs point to India as the forerunner of this practice more than 3,000 years ago.

From that moment on, palmistry spread throughout the known world at that time. The ancient Girl, like Chaldea (currently Syria), Persia (currently Iran) and Egypt, developed the art of palm reading until it reached Europe and had a great boom among the population during the 18th and 19th centuries.

By 1711, a manuscript written by Serafin Spoccani entitled «Scienza della mano o sia chiromanzia» («The science of the hand or divination» translated into Spanish), details the art of reading the palm through palmistry. The text is considered one of the oldest known treatises.

Currently this practice is considered a «pseudoscience» without the possibility of being endorsed by the medical or scientific guild. However, in the past it was an opportunity to approach medical diagnoses.

The same way, palmistry was used in order to expose the character of a person and through the lines and other physiognomies of the hand, predict the future. Additionally, the science of the time was interested in investigating topics related to anatomy, morphology and dermatology.

The advancement of science has left palmistry practically unimportant in relation to medical studies or at least that it is useful to solve chronic diseases or pathologies.

However, research has been carried out on particular characteristics of the «simian line» and «Down syndrome». Similarly, on psychological illnesses such as «Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder» and «Schizophrenia». Palmistry may not be a science, but whenever you seek to know what will happen in your future, you can find an ally.
