Thursday, January 21, 2016. This coming February, it will be held in Barcelona, Spain; the Mobile World Fair, in which smartphones will be the protagonists. Actually, this technology fair is named in English “Mobile World Congress” o Mobile World Congress; and as well as in the CES carried out at the beginning of the year with an overwhelming success in Las Vegas, Nevada; on this occasion the story continues, but in the aforementioned European country in a lavish event, whose motto is: «The mobile is everything». However, what surprises does this meeting hide? Let’s see!
The Congress will take place from February 22 to 25 of this year, and the participation of approximately 100 thousand people is estimated; all lovers of technology and especially those related to mobile telephony. As for the exhibitors, the organizing committee expects the attendance of more than two thousand recognized representatives worldwide.
Companies like “Samsung”, “Google”, “Facebook” and “Sony”; they will say ¡present!, in areas specially arranged for products such as smart watches or «smartwatches». This great event generates, between the congress itself and added activities, important economic income for the city; that is aspired to add up to a few million euros. Likewise, the organizers assure that the event alone will contribute more than 10 thousand jobs.
Congressional Director John Hoffman; He affirmed that this year the meeting will be majestic with a view to surpassing the previous ones. Its headquarters will be the Fira de Barcelona, ratifying its attendance and participation firms such as «LG», «Sony», «Huawei», «Alcaltel», «Ericsson», «ZTE», «Samsung», «Intel», «Qualcomm» and “Google”, among others.
Although the protagonists will be smartphones; for your part the calls “wearables” which are technological devices used on the body, will be the second on the list. They will also present the «graphene»; innovative material used in «chips», sensors, screens and batteries for equipment. One of the surprises that it has «up its sleeve» is a prototype airplane as part of a space called «The City of Innovation»; with which they will demonstrate part of the advances in telecommunications.
Of course, given the importance of the celebration; personalities such as Mark Zuckerberg, creator of «Facebook», will be present with a long-awaited presentation; as well as the CEO of «Ford», Mark Fields and his counterpart from «General Electric», William Ruh. Similarly, leading global telephone companies such as «Vodafone», «China Mobile» and «AT&T» will also attend.
The Mobile World Congress is a high-level event and for this reason, the Barcelona City Council and its organizing committee have guaranteed the safety of both its participants and attendees. The project is contemplated until the year 2018, so that if it continues or not, only its organizers know; although when asked about it, they said that it is still too early to decide.
