I have been using it for several weeks LG Velvet, a mid-range cell phone, which brings quite interesting features. Without a doubt, it has been one of the smartphones that promises to offer an audiovisual experience on another level with its large screen and design.
The LG Velvet is a pretty cute phone, with a large curved screen, and a slightly curved back that meets a metal edge. Part of its design is the three cameras arranged by size from largest to smallest, including the flash. The back is made of glass, giving it a very premium feel. Apart from its Google Assistant and power buttons next to the volume, we find the traditional headphone jack. I want to insist on good taste in design.
As for the screen, we have a 6.8-inch panel with technology OLED, in 20.5:9 format, although beware that it leaves no other option. In addition, it has a resolution FullHD+ of 2460x1080px with an equivalent pixel density of 395 dpi. And it is also compatible with HD content
The color calibration is quite well balanced and with the option to customize it, where we can choose between live, cinema, natural mode, or a customizable mode where we can adjust to our liking, from colors to temperature. As for the OLED panel, it has a refresh rate of 60Hz
The battery of the equipment is powerful, where it has 4,300mAh that, despite not being the largest capacity on the market, has a good duration for the whole day. This obviously contemplating normal use. In my case, I managed to last all day with no problems.
In your brain, we have a processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G, 6 GB of RAM, with 128 GB of storage. It seems to me that it is enough for the virtues of the phone, since it has good performance, in addition to serving without problems with various games designed for Android.
If there’s one thing LG knows, it’s good sound. In fact, we have on the device a double speaker, located at the bottom of the device and another at the front. The volume is quite high, and the sound left me well satisfied. Note that I am not an expert in sound, but for my purpose of watching videos in YouTube or listening to music on Spotify, it seemed quite reasonable to me.
Regarding the photographic issue, we have a total of three rear cameras, where only two of them have the ability to capture photos, this is because the third is to detect depth and support the famous portrait photos.
The main chamber is 48 megapixels and the other is a wide angle 8 megapixels. The depth sensor is 5 megapixels. The level of detail is good, where we have several photo options. I think that the camera is a must, because I feel that it performs well, but it could be better in some aspects. If you ask me, during the day the photographs are quite acceptable, something that changes at night, where the quality is lower.
In phone recording mode, allows recording at 4K and it comes equipped with very good image stabilization. Day and night it works quite well.
As a summary, we have a premium mid-range device that is aesthetically very nice. With an acceptable battery and good performance. I highlight the IP68, the standard that allows it to be submerged in water without problems. I think the cameras are average, but for a user looking for a good phone, without paying too much, it’s perfect. Recommended.
