What is the function of the cd and dvd player?

A CD/DVD reader drive allows you to read the content of the optical disc inserted in it. To read the stored content, it uses a special laser, that is, light, therefore it does not physically touch the surface of the disc at any time (unlike audio cassettes or vinyl records). This means that reading an optical disk does not in any way alter its surface.
