Process/task name: Device Association Framework Provider Host
The dasHost.exe file and process is the Device Association Framework Provider Host. It is present in Windows 8 and 10.
Sometimes it connects to the internet to check for new emails that have entered our email account and display notifications. It should only be active if you have an email account to sync from a Microsoft application.
It is located in the folder:
C:\Windows\System32\dasHost.exe
Some users have problems with this file because it consumes a lot of CPU. You can terminate this process from Task Manager without issue.
If you’re having CPU issues again, I suggest disabling use of the Mail app or turning off the auto sync option.
