Common problems with Hotmail (Outlook.com)

Due to the large number of emails and queries in the technical forums regarding these issues; We decided to make this special note to try to solve the problems related to the Microsoft HOTMAIL email service (now called Outlook)

Possible problems and their solutions to fix Hotmail inbox

Usual errors, for which we receive countless queries:

Hotmail inbox (Outlook.com) can’t open or crashes, some items don’t load or items don’t react when clicked, I get error messages in Hotmail, or the screen in Hotmail freezes or is extremely slow .

Possible reasons:

* Hotmail servers are saturated, you have to wait. It is not a problem that occurs frequently.

* Some firewall (firewall) installed on the computer could be interfering, temporarily disable it to test if this is the case. It may be the antivirus firewall.

* May be a browser specific problem, usually Internet Explorer. Below are solutions regarding this.

* Use another browser such as Google Chrome, Opera or Firefox. If Hotmail loads without a problem, the error is in Internet Explorer.

Solution for general problems in Hotmail

These solutions are geared toward those using Internet Explorer, but some may work with other browsers.

A) Delete temporary files:

1. Click on Startand then in Run (Windows XP or lower), write %Temp% and press Enter.

In Windows Vista and Windows 7, click the button Start and in the empty text search box write %Temp% and then press Enter.

In Windows 8, type in search %Temp% and press Enter.

2. Select all files in the folder that was opened and delete them (if it says that you can’t delete a particular file, skip those messages)

3. Enter the browser you use and delete all cache and history. Here are the steps to do this in Internet Explorer:

3.1 Enter Internet Explorer. If you could not enter the browser because it gives an error, go to Start – Run – write inetcpl.cpl and Enter (Windows XP and lower), in Windows Vista or higher, use the search engine, type inetcpl.cpl and accept. The Internet Options settings will open.

3.2 Once in Internet Explorer, go to the Tools – Internet Options menu.

3.3 Once in Internet Options, go to the General tab and press the Delete button. Select all items and again Delete.

3.4 Close the browser.

Enter Hotmail (Outlook.com) and test if the email already works. Otherwise, continue to the next step.

B) Disable third party plugins:

Some problems in Internet Explorer can be Google bars, antivirus bars, or printers, etc. and can cause errors. To rule out that the browser error is related to any third-party browser plugins, you can disable them as follows:

1. Go to Internet Explorer (or run the command inetcpl.cpl explained above)

2. Go to menu Tools – Internet Options – Advanced Options tab.

3. Under the Browse category find and uncheck the option Enable third-party browser extensions

4. Click Apply and then OK

5. Close Internet Explorer

Log in to Hotmail (Outlook.com) to test if the error is fixed.

C) Clear SSL Cache:

1. Go to Windows Control Panel

2. Double click Internet Options

3. Select the tab Contents and then click Clear SSL State

4. Accept the notification message indicating that it has been successfully deleted

5. Click on To accept in the window of Internet Options«

6. Restart the browser

Log in to Hotmail (Outlook.com) to test if the error is fixed.

D) Change security in Internet Explorer

In Internet Explorer, go to Tools, then Internet Options, then the «Security» tab and set the setting to «Medium» (or click the «Default level» button).

If it still doesn’t work, I suggest repairing Internet Explorer using Microsoft’s advice here: Repair Internet Explorer.

More solutions, if the above doesn’t work

If none of the above works, many users have solved the problem by downloading other browsers, such as Chrome, Opera or Firefox. Login to Hotmail (Outlook.com) using these.

If you still can’t access your Hotmail emails, try the following:

* People have fixed the issue by going into Internet Explorer, then the Tools menu, then Internet Options. Go to the «Advanced» tab or tab and disable: Use HTTP 1.1.

* It can also be tested by disabling the antivirus and/or the firewall. If you manage to get in after disabling these applications, you should check the settings of these tools or change your antivirus, but never leave the computer unprotected.

* It may also be caused by a problem with digital signatures. To fix the problem, we need to register certain files. We open Start, Run and write the following commands (one at a time, without forgetting any):
regsvr32 Softpub.dll
regsvr32 wintrust.dll
regsvr32 Initpki.dll
regsvr32 Mssip32.dll
regsvr32 wuapi.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 wuweb.dll
regsvr32 atl.dll

discover hotmail password

Another issue for which we receive amounts of queries on a daily basis. People who want to discover a key or password of a Hotmail (Outlook.com) account. It is not possible with any special technique, nor with any hacker program to remotely remove users’ Hotmail passwords. There may only be a couple of computer geniuses who can break into the system, but that’s not common.

If you’re wondering… then why was my password taken from me?
By the following:

* They discovered the secret answer to your question.

* The key was simply or deductible.

* When entering cyber cafes or acquaintance machines, one risks that they are infected with all kinds of viruses, Trojans and spies, with which they obtain our password.

* Our machine is infected with spyware or some other malicious program that captures what we type.

* We fell into a trap and put our key where we shouldn’t. The latter is very frequent; sometimes e-mails arrive or there are web pages that say they can discover hotmail passwords. They give a «believable» analysis of how passwords are discovered and finally ask you for your own key to be able to do it.

But, we reiterate, the chances of getting your Hotmail password (not counting the above) are minimal.
